Eyes Say It All

One of the most exciting parts of the face to put makeup on is the eyes. There are a wide variety of eyeshadows out there which allow for so much artistry and creativity. The right eyeshadow can compliment your eye color, add intensity or even add shape and balance to your face. First you need to determine your eye shape so you can use the best eye makeup application for them. Here are some tips to help you achieve the best look for your eye shape:

Close set eyes
~One color across the lid
~Light color on inner corner of eyes
~Dark colors outside of eyes
~Add shimmer to corner of eye

Wide set eyes
~Prime your eyelid
~Start with a good base
~Stay away from light shades. Choose colors closer to your skin shade
~Darker shade in the crease
~Primary colors like light brown or champagne

Deep set eyes
~Neutral eyeshadow on lid
~Use lighter eyeshadow on upper lid
~Follow your natural bone structure
~Apply the shadow right below your brow bone (These type of eyes have a natural shadow on them) ~There is a darker area below eyebrow due to bone structure
~Don’t try to put shadow in crease cause it will make your eyes look smaller

Bulbous eyes
~These are eyes that protrude (Bulging eyes)
~Apply primer and foundation on upper and lower lid (so eyes don’t look bigger)
~Apply eyeshadow to your lower lash line
~Darker tones are recommended (so they don’t pop}
~Darker shades enhance beauty not size
~Dark shadow to outer lids
~ Deep or dark hues in any color are fine.

Round eyes
~Medium to dark over center of lid
~Highlight inner corner with lighter shade

Downturned eyes
~Go with matte shadows
~Dark nudes are a great choice
~Don’t go too far above the crease
~Natural colors open up the eyes

Hooded eyes
Apply eyeshadow all the way up to your brow bone
